Top Ten Tuesday: 'Hyped' Books I've Never Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they post a new topic that the participants come up with a top ten list for.

This week topic is:
Top Ten Hyped Books I've Never Read

The way I decided to work out my personal list is by just looking up the current 'popular' teen fiction books and just going by there.

Phew!

So much shame...

What 'hyped up' books have you not gotten a chance to read yet?

  1. TFiOS is not a bad book but in my opinion it is waaay over-hyped. I hate when people call it the best of YA, like other authors could never dream of reaching up to John Green. Yeah, not a fan haha. It definitely worth reading, though. :) I really love A Great and Terrible Beautify when I read it, though it's not for everyone and is not without faults. Hush Hush is nothing special, I'd call it mindless fun if you can bear the annoying heroine and the asshole hero plus the lackluster plot. Joking, I actually enjoyed it, despite the things I mentioned. The Night House series... I have no words, no words of how unnecessarily stretched out that series is. Years ago I loved the books but I don't think I'll ever finish the series. Go Ask Alice was a great read, very dark but a good book nonetheless.

Finally I got to the best part (not that I don't love Kalli's list as well)! The Lunar Chronicles is one of the most awesome series ever. You have to read it ASAP. I love love love The Selection as well! I know many people dislike it, some for the characters, some for it not being dystopia enough, but it's one of my favorite series. Well, that is if we don't count The Heir - biggest disappointment of the year. Vampire Academy is so freaking awesome! The characters are perfect and you the story is pretty exciting as well! Mara Dyer I didn't like all that much, which was such a disappointment because I heard nothing but amazing things about it.

Anyways, awesome lists and I hope you'll enjoy all these! :)

    1. I am SO excited to read all of these but especially Mara Dyer and VA! At this point I will have zero money haha. Thanks for your comment, lovely :)

Also, Kalli, I liked Hush Hush and Marked! I can't say I've heard great things about the other books in both series but definitely read the first two to see what you think!

  2. Ohhh SO many awesome books here. x) I'm such a fan of Snow Like Ashes, TFIOS, Red Rising, Throne of Glass, and Cinder!! Ahh, but I have To All the Boys on my list too. Omg, I see that book literally EVERYWHERE but I haven't even thought about reading it yet. I really need to see if my library has it. ;-)

  4. Throne of Glass was so good. I liked SLA and Mara Dyer, but from what I've seen you'll either love it or hate it. I liked the Grisha trilogy okay. But I don't think it really lives up to the hype it gets. And my personal opinion? I don't like The Selection.

I really need to read Red Rising. Great lists!

  5. TFIOS is an okay read for me. I didn't like it but I didn't loathe it either. You totally should read Percy Jackson! It's one of my fave and it's so funny. The Selection was great, though the second and third book were boring for me. I really want to read Cinder too, it sounds interesting! Great list :)

  6. I have read some of these and would recommend - Cinder was a very pleasant surprise. The Diviners completely freaked me out but great story. A Great and Terrible Beauty I struggled through. Not recommended! And I will admit TFIOS was a title I really loved.

  7. I've read a lot of your books on the list! I just finished Red Queen and simply could not put it down. Cinder was awesome! And anything that Libba Bray writes is an automatic win! Happy reading!

Currently reading Snow Like Ashes, and it's been pretty great so far. :P
The Selection...hmm, let's just say it's not for me. Regardless, I hope you enjoy it more than I did.
To All The Boys I've Loved Before & Red Queen I really need to read both of these!! ^-^

P.S. Can I just praise your little owl rating system? EXTREMELY ADORABLE! I have fallen in love with all 5 of them. Now I just have to come up with a plan to kidnap them. :P
