Top Ten Tuesday: Supporting Characters That Need Their Own Book!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they post a new topic that the participants come up with a top ten list for.

This week's topic is: (Minor) Characters that deserve their own book! This one is gonna be eeeeasy !

Kenji from Shatter Me - He was a ray of sunshine in that series! Some of my favourite quotes are from him and although he doesn't have the graceful words of some of the other characters I definitely can laugh when he's speaking. He deserves a whole series of books.

Myrnin from The Morganville Vampires - He's such a complex character. He has a whole hoard of sides and I never know which one I'm going to be reading about. I'd love to hear internal thoughts rather than what Claire sees. I am constantly wondering what he's thinking when his insanity lapses. I'm on book 5 in this series and I think he's starting to become more lucid but he still interests me. Also, the way he is with Claire is the best kind of strange. He sometimes treats her like a china doll and other times he is very cruel with his words but you can tell he cares for her so much... Would love to read a whole book about him, from his point of view of course!

Luke and Twila from Compulsion - I've actually spoken to the author about this and she agreed! They were very important to the story but in an extremely distant way. The reason I'd like for them to have their own book is because I'd love to learn more about their story - how they came together and what they thought in those last moments. It's a very beautiful story but incredibly tragic at the same time. Very Romeo and Juliet in the star-crossed lovers sense. MAKE THIS HAPPEN, MARTINA. *Bats eyelashes* Please.

Toraf from The Syrena Legacy - I'm sure if you've read this series you'll agree. He was an adorably stupid character - kind of like Kenji - he brought happiness and sass in times of angst.

Luc from The Lux Series - Just because of what he was. I'm entirely interested in finding out more about his species. I'm purposely being vague because OH MY GOD it is hard to talk about any aspect of the Lux series without giving spoilers. Everything is connected and yeah it was hard to review the books without giving spoilers... But hey, awesome series.

Roth from The Dark Elements - In the second book he has done a whole 180 with his feelings (or so it seems) and I would love to be in his head. I know he's putting up a front but it's so hard to know when we only have Layla's perspective which consists of a lot of self pity and 'but it meant something'. #TeamRoth or #TeamZayne? #TeamBambi.

"The Other Pet" from Perfected - Her name escapes me but I know it's mentioned because I remember Ruby thinks she can call the replacement pet by the old pet's name. Oh and the 'pets' are people. Read the book it's awesome and the ending almost killed me. Very nearly almost. But I would love to hear this other pet's story - what happened to her before and after she was sent back to the Kennels?

Clary's Mom from The Mortal Instruments - When Valentine takes her we don't really know much of what happens to her. Does he try to convince her he still loves her? Does he lock her away until Clary inevitably shows up? I don't think we ever found out much - just what Clary sees when she enters Valentine's hideout. She's a pretty mundane (hahahaha, pun and irony intended) character to want a whole book for but I would like to hear her thoughts through the first and second books. A novella sounds better.

Etienne from Anna and the French Kiss - Because I always wonder what the guy is thinking. We usually only get to hear the girl's side and, if we're lucky, get one bonus scene from the POV of the guy... I WANT A WHOLE BOOK!!

What about you guys? Who do you think deserves a whole book for themselves? :)

  3. Good list, I agree with you that I want St.Clair to have the story told from his point of view even though I hated him but I feel like if the story was told from his point of view while I would still dislike a lot of his actions he wouldn't be overly romanticized but rather a teenage boy who's going through something and screws up which is a character I could love but the guy I meant in Anna and the French Kiss just didn't work for me.
