Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss #1) by Stephanie Perkins

Can Anna find love in the City of Light?
Anna is happy in Atlanta. She has a loyal best friend and a crush on her coworker at the movie theater, who is just starting to return her affection. So she's less than thrilled when her father decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year.
But despite not speaking a word of French, Anna meets some cool new people, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair, who quickly becomes her best friend. Unfortunately, he's taken —and Anna might be, too. Will a year of romantic near misses end with the French kiss she's waiting for?

I am so grateful to have read this book! It's still a favourite of mine to this day. I still adore Anna and Etienne and their relationship makes me super jealous. I don't even want  a relationship but when I read about these two I can't help but want a British boy from America in France!

I also love this book because it helped me decide whether I wanted to travel or not. I have always  wanted to travel but I didn't know how I could or if I could do it alone. After reading this book I was so inspired and I knew France was my first choice to visit. So I began researching and finally, after a couple of days of stressing out because travelling is so so so  expensive if you don't want to live out of a backpack, I found an amazing alternative! Au Pairing. I am currently in the process of finding a host family in France or Italy. I really want to go to America but I thought, for a first experience, somewhere in Europe would be much easier considering I'm from England. What if I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would? I would have spent all of that time and money on a visa application etc etc. SO, if I enjoy France and Italy I'll keep on going to new places each time :)

THAT is why I am grateful for this book. Just look how powerful they can be! Because of this book I am on my way to doing something I just know I'll love and something that will give me mountains of experience that I'll remember forever. Books are great like that.

If anyone would like to talk to me about au pairing then please don't hesitate to email me (enchantedrosebooks@hotmail.com) I have gained a lot of insight into this kind of experience and I remember being very confused about the idea at first. If any of you are looking for a way to travel without the high expenses then this really is an ideal way and a fun one!
