TBR Pile: February 2015

TBR Pile: February 2016

Here are the books I plan on reading this month! Might be a bit ambitious but I'm gonna shoot for it.

I decided to also join in a challenge called '2016 Challenge - Read Tamora Pierce'. Wooo!!

I really love her books and I really wish I had read more of them. This is one of the biggest reasons why I decided to join in. I don't know how many I plan on reading this year, as I don't want to overwhelm myself too much, but I decided to start on the Emelan series (linked for reference) at the least.

For this month, I'll read:

I may read more during the month, depending on how I go with finishing my current TBR list above, so... yay!!

Another challenge that I'm going to do (yeah, yeah, yeah...) involves the Read Harder Challenge 2016 which is hosted by Book Riot! I found myself pulled into this challenge just simply because it encourages others to read books outside their usual genre - for me, that's teen fiction in general. I'll type out the list that I've commited to already below. It'll be better than this post having an onslaught of photos.

(These will not be read in order by the way).
  • Read a horror book: Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry
  • Read a non-fiction book about science: The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean
  • Read a collection of essays: Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me by Mindy Kaling
  • Read a book out loud to someone else: Bunny Roo, I Love You by Melissa Marr
  • Read a middle grade novel: Seraphina and the Black Cloak by Robert Beatty
    • Read a biography (not memoir or autobiography): The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
  • Read a dystopian or post-apocalyptic novel: Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
  • Read a book originally published in the decade you were born: Howl's Moving Castle by Dianna Wynne Jones
  • Listen to an audiobook that has won an Audie Award: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
  • Read a book over 500 pages long: Flesh & Blood by A.E. Dooland
  • Read a book under 100 pages: The Metamorphosis by Frank Kafka
  • Read a book by or about a person that identifies as transgender: Freakboy by Kristin Elizabeth Clark
  • Read a book that is set in the Middle East: Seas of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh
  • Read a book that is by an author from Southeast Asia: The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo
  • Read a book of historical fiction set before 1900: An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
  • Read the first book in a series by a person of color: The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu
  • Read a non-superhero comic that debuted in the last three years: Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson
  • Read a book that was adapted into a movie, then watch the movie. Debate which is better: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
  • Read a nonfiction book about feminism or dealing with feminist themes: Female Chauvinist Pigs by Ariel Levy
  • Read a book about religion (fiction or nonfiction): The Witches: Salem 1692 by Stacy Schiff
  • Read a book about politics, in your country or another (fiction or nonfiction): In The Country: Stories by Mia Alvar
  • Read a food memoir: Stir by Jessica Fechtor
  • Read a play: Antigone by Sophocles
  • Read a book with a main character that has a mental illness: It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

If you think you've already seen this post before, well... you're not wrong. Due to the fact that I did not read at all last month, all the things I planned on reading January have been pushed forward for February. I'm going to do my best to keep from doing this, since if I do I'll never get through the stuff I'd like to read, but life happens... and, honestly, there wasn't much I could do about it this time around. Sorry. >:
